INDUSTRIAL HEATING MAGAZINE, July 31, 2006

VAC AERO's Oakville (Ontario) furnace manufacturing division has sold a model VAH 2636 HV-2 vacuum furnace to Liburdi Turbine Services (Dundas, Ontario). The furnace includes VAC AERO's durable graphite-based hot zone design, engineered specifically for demanding brazing applications. As part of the furnace contract, VAC AERO is supplying a dual furnace cooling system, a hot zone rebuild for an existing furnace and complete installation services.

This is the fourth vacuum furnace VAC AERO has supplied to Liburdi Turbine Services and the 24th new furnace system VAC AERO will deliver this year. Liburdi Turbine Services is a well-known supplier to the gas turbine industry of component repair and engineering services.

Vac Aero opens new Office in Aviation Valley

The Monty, June 13, 2006 Issue

Vac Aero, a Canadian based manufacturer of new vacuum furnaces and a good sized commercial heat treater in their own right has just opened a new office in Poland's Aviation Valley. The photo below shows the management of the new office along with the President and Vice President of Vac Aero, Canada. At some point in time we'll have to elaborate on the substantial amount of heat treating springing up in Poland (Pratt & Whitney, Bodycote, Seco Warwick and Vac Aero all come to mind instantly) but that's a topic for another day. In the meantime we are all left to ponder why Jeff Pritchard and Scott Rush seem so sadly out of fashion in their gray suits.

Vac Aero & Hightemp Looking to Join Forces

The Monty, June 7, 2006 Issue

We've mentioned in the past how The Monty works hard to connect people and businesses having common interests. Last year, The Monty was pleased to make the introductions between Hightemp Furnaces and VAC AERO. These two companies formed a joint venture to provide vacuum heat treating equipment and services to the Indian market. Now, it looks like they are already looking for ways to expand their partnership. Hightemp recently visited VAC AERO's two facilities in Poland to learn more about the market in Eastern Europe. Pictured at a dinner meeting in Warsaw are Jeff Pritchard (President, VAC AERO), Mahadevan Gopal (Managing Director, Hightemp), Michael Miasek (VAC AERO VP – European Operations) and Pratap Ghorpade (Hightemp VP - Marketing).

Vac Aero Setting up Heat Treating Operation in Poland

The Monty, June 16, 2006 Issue

This Canadian based manufacturer of new vacuum furnaces and large commercial heat treater set up a manufacturing operation in Poland a little while back, the news item below is the most recent of several we've had about this venture.

Obviously this has been a winning proposition for Vac Aero, as it has for a number of companies involved in the heat treating industry. We are not trying to detract from Vac Aero's news item but we would like to mention that a few other companies have also found success doing business in Poland. The Pratt & Whitney facility in Longueil, Quebec (Aerospace), has over the past several years transferred a reasonable amount of manufacturing and heat treating to Poland, Seco Warwick (new furnaces) has a large presence there, Bodycote International (commercial heat treating) found Poland to be interesting enough from a business standpoint that they bought the Nitrex Gas Nitriding plants there a couple of years back and according to the photo further down this page, Hightemp Furnaces of India was in Poland a couple of weeks back, probably not for a holiday. Having fulfilled an earlier promise to give our readers a few examples of companies involved in the heat treating setting up operations in Poland we will move on to how Vac Aero is doing in Poland, which would appear to be very well.
