The Monty, May 2006 Issue
This is a story about globalization, a smaller world or the exchange of information technology around the world, call it what you will it's all the same thing at the end of the day.
The photo below shows on the left Scott Rush, VP of Vac Aero, Canada (new vacuum furnaces, vacuum heat treating) and on the right Gopal Mahadevan, Managing Director of Hightemp Furnaces, India (new furnaces, commercial heat treating). What they are looking at is the partially constructed plant of the brand new Vac Aero/Hightemp facility in Bangalore, India. This operation will be turning out new vacuum furnaces for the growing Indian/South Asian heat treating market and is a result of the recent partnership between the two companies in which Vac Aero is sharing vacuum furnace technology with Hightemp Furnaces. As we speak the first new vacuum furnace which is a result of their partnership is currently under construction in Bangalore.
While we at "The Monty" realize that this news item will probably not excite too many North American readers it probably should as a sign of things to come. In this case we're seeing North American vacuum heat treating technology being applied in India to help the growing presence of US companies such as Pratt & Whitney and GE. In our opinion partnerships such as this are a win/win situation for both parties and we're proud that we were able to help bring these two companies together. April 25/06
